You don't have to limit this to just your pet either - great moisturiser, and multi purpose balm too. I use it for everything.

Ingredients-

Calendula oil (Calendula Officinalis) - Calendula is an excellent anti-inflammatory and antiseptic making it beneficial to sore, inflamed itchy skin conditions. It promotes healing, increases collagen production and cell regeneration. The antiseptic properties of calendula make this oil a top choice for every first aid kit. Use this herb to prevent infection from bug bites, scratches and minor cuts and burns. Commonly used for acne, eczema, psoriasis, rash, dry chapped skin and other irritations. It is a wonderful oil to have on hand at all times.

Chamomile oil (Chamaemelum nobile) - The therapeutic properties of Roman chamomile oil are analgesic, anti-spasmodic, antiseptic, antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, anti-infectious, anti-depressant, anti-neuralgic, antispasmodic, bactericidal, carminative, sedative and nervine. Calms acne, eczema, rashes, wounds, dermatitis, dry and itchy skin and other allergic conditions in general. Chamomile is an anti-inflammatory herb and thus works well as a soother for a variety of skin irritations, including haemorrhoids, eczema, psoriasis, cuts, bruises, sunburn and blisters. Chamomile is also proven to calm the nerves, relax the mind and body and promote sleep.

Considered safe and beneficial for children and dogs.

Carrot Oil - Respected aromatherapy references suggest that it is useful for the treatment of dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, wrinkles, and that it aids dry skin and revitalises the basal layer. There is also evidence that it assists circulation and aids muscular tension. It has been suggested that it might be useful for the treatment of hypertension and neurasthenia. Good for dry, flaky, sensitive skin which is prone to infection. Can rejuvenate and stimulate tissue regeneration, thus effective for scar healing.

Hypericum perforatum is a medicinal plant valued for its antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and mood-regulating properties. More commonly called St. John's wort, hypericum perforatum may help treatment symptoms of depression, mood disorders, skin inflammation and other health issues. Commonly used for eczema, wounds, haemorrhoids and minor burns.

Neem oil - Neem is antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, antiseptic, and antiparasitic. Because of these properties, it is widely deployed in many different toiletries such as soap, toothpaste, hair care products, and skin care products. The oil has moisturizing and regenerative properties, contains Vitamin E, and has essential fatty acids. It is also used to deter mosquitoes, fleas, flies, ticks, mites, and lice. It promotes a strong immune system, healthy skin, a shiny, problem free coat, strong healthy teeth, all the signs of a radiantly healthy dog.

Jojoba oil - contains myristic acid which also has anti-inflammatory actions and since it has a similar in composition to that of the skin's own oils, it is quickly absorbed and is excellent for dry skins as well as inflamed conditions.

Vitamin E Oil This is a very effective antioxidant for eczema. It aids in healing and can help prevent scarring. Soothing and nourishing and antiseptic. Also assists the balm from rancidity.

Lavender oil is a natural antiseptic and cleanser that also increases circulation to the skin's surface which aids in healing. Calming, stress relieving and sedating. Very safe and gentle, antibacterial, anti-itch, nerve-calming. Good for many common animal ailments, e.g. skin irritations, first aid. A "must-have" oil for your dog!

Used for all infected skin conditions, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, aids in the healing of wounds and scars. Astringent, good for oily skin. Used for acne, eczema, spots, cold sores (and other herpes infections), boils, wounds and seborrhoea of the skin and scalp.

Emotions/Mind: uplifting, refreshing and encouraging. it can help relieve anxiety and depression.

Note - Essential oils are very potent, therefore only a very small amount has been added to the balm to ensure dosage is low.

The balm has only its natural scent, so its super friendly on your dog’s intense smelling capabilities and will not irritate their noses.

It is great value and only a tiny amount is needed for coverage. Due to its mildness and safety, it can be used 3-4 times per day if required. It has proven to be relaxing to my dogs and healed a wound with only 4 applications.

Precautions - Do not use any essential oils on pregnant bitches

Do not use on deep wounds as the skin may heal over too quickly, trapping debris and bacteria inside.

Extra Note - This balm has helped my dry lips, dry skin, an itchy skin episode and dry scalp, so it's more of a multi purpose cream :) (Although calendula balm is better for those things on humans). Had some excellent feedback on improvement of dogs skin problems of this balm. Even 2 dogs with a chronic case of mange and the parents were saved from more distress and heart ache.
